Leisureworld Caregiving Centre – Rockclffe is home to 204 residents and currently has an opening for a Permanent Full-time RAI Coordinator.

RESPONSIBILITIES (But not limited to):
• Establish, maintain, and communicate current resident assessment schedule to the inter-professional team.
• Establishes an effective process for auditing to ensure RAI MDS accuracy and compliance with coding, rapping and care plan updating, not care plan content.
• Review and analyze monthly, each resident’s RAI MDS to ensure accuracy of assessments and meeting of resident needs and that documentation reflects resident needs
• Monitors and analyzes RAI outputs and reports and communicates with the management team and corporate committees
• Reinforces expectations of the RAI MDS 2.0 program as assigned by management, and escalates any unresolved concerns to direct supervisor
• Provide all RAI MDS 2.0 related education sessions
• Provides all electronic documentation training, initial and ongoing to the inter-professional team
• Ensures all RAI MDS 2.0 documentation is completed by the inter-professional team by the deadlines and reporting any conflicts to the Director of Care or designate.
• Participation in inter-professional meetings, as required by management for RAI MDS 2.0 purposes
• Produce monthly reports by the due date, and distribute to team members as directed.
• Producing RAI MDS reports for management use to assist in clinical and operational decision-making.
• Liaises with senior level management to enhance best outcomes.
• Participates in Quality and Improvement Initiatives
• Participates in committees at the home and/or corporate level.
• Maintain competency by attending/participating in educational sessions (i.e. CIHI education portal and annual AIS renewal)
• Adhere to all RAI MDS 2.0 outlined time frames due to this process being time sensitive.
• Sign off on records prior to submission to CIHI
• Assumes responsibility for the computerized Data Submission process and maintaining records following each submission within the time frames outlined by Ministry of Health and Long Term Care (MOHLTC)
• Tracks rejections and errors during submission process to CIHI and engages in corrections and re-submissions as per MOHLTC deadlines.
• Liaises as required with MOHLTC, CIHI, software vendor, Leisureworld and Preferred Health Informatics team
• Liaise with software vendor, IT department and Director of Administration (DOA) to follow up on hardware and software concerns.
• Network with other RAI Coordinators, corporate representatives, external consultants, etc. to build best practices.
• Conducts MDS orientation for new employees
• RAI Coordinator will be the RAI-Lead for AIS in their respective Home which will include the following responsibilities:
o Act as the point person for staff in supporting staff with their AIS related activities
o Manage accounts for staff in AIS Central
o Support staff learning needs in using AIS Mastering the RAI
o Ensure staff complete their required AIS Proficiency Evaluations in a timely manner and provide support where needed
o Run reports in AIS to inform management of progress with Ministry mandated requirement for AIS Proficiency Evaluations
o Identify RAI-MDS 2.0 areas that staff have good knowledge for coding and areas where improvement is needed
• May be requested to act as education coordinator in the Home
• Conducts Abaqis interviews and inspection protocols as directed by management
• May coordinate and facilitate other duties such as annual care conferences or Physician physicals
• Participate/be involved in direct care and/or conduct resident assessments, as assigned by Manager, as applicable to the license to practice
• Occupational Health & Safety – Worker Responsibilities:
• Workers have several duties under the OHSA, as per Section 28. A worker must:
• Work in compliance with the Act and Regulations.
o Use or wear any personal protective equipment, devices or clothing required by the employer;
o Report to the employer, Supervisor or Director of Administration any hazard, actual or potential, that may be dangerous to themselves, or another worker and any violation of the Act or the Regulations.
o Not remove or make ineffective any protective device required by the Regulations or their employer;
o Not engage in any prank, contest, feat of strength, unnecessary running or rough or boisterous conduct or use or operate any equipment, or work in any way that may endanger any worker.
• Other duties as assigned

• Successful annual completion of RAI MDS certification as per Ministry of Health requirements for AIS
• Previous experience in adult education / facilitation.
• Problem solving and analytical abilities is required.
• Demonstrates self-directed abilities with strong interest in the-documentation process.
• Demonstrates ease in group presentations.
• MDS education is an asset.
• Clear aptitude for detail oriented work.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision
• Ability to trouble-shoot and take immediate appropriate action for timely resolution.
• Ability to meet and adhere to deadlines.
• Ability to engage all members of the inter-professional team for positive outcomes.
• Strong computer skills.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Must have effective verbal and written English communications.

• Current general certificate of registration with a college of a regulated health profession or Ontario College of Social Workers with a minimum of 3 years clinical, project experience
