Real Estate Law Clerk (Riverdale Area)
General Practice, Sole Practitioner Law Office is currently seeking an experienced Real Estate Law Clerk.


Assisting with handling inquiries, telephone calls, etc. related to a multiple practice law firm, including ordering of supplies and various other tasks to assist other law clerk and staff;
Handling all aspects of residential real estate transactions from beginning to completion (purchase, sale and mortgage - Bank and private, reporting letter);
Assisiting and working on commerical real estate transactions/files with lawyer;
Conducting electronic title searches (including adjoining land searches) and off-title due diligence searches, as required including reviewing, describing the Land Title charges and encumbrances; writs, etc.;
Drafting correspondence, electronic documents, registering documents, meeting with clients, handling phone calls, obtaining execution from clients;
Dealing with lending institutions (bank and private lenders), clients, real estate agents, insurance brokers and other firms, clients, utility companies, land tax departments etc...;
Banking and preparing cheques;
Preparing undertakings, independent legal advice, declarations, etc., as well as final reporting letters to clients, etc. and sending all documents out in a timely manner;
Accounting of all transactions and files, reporting to Accountant and lawyer;
Maintain and organize all current files and archives in filing system;
Other duties as assigned/applicable.


Law Clerk diploma or equivalent experience;
Minimum of 4 to 5 years experience as a Law Clerk in Real Estate, including residential and commerical real estate;
Experience and working knowledge of Conveyancer, Teraview, PC Law, Title Insurance, Internet and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel);
Extensive knowledge of legal procedures;
Experience in banking, issuing cheques and using PC Law;
Must be accurate and detail-oriented, with the ability to exercise sound judgment;
Dedicated to providing quality service to clients;
Excellent communication skills, both written & verbal, and interpersonal/professional skills;
Ability to multitask, establish priorities, work independently and as a team and to proceed with objectives under minimal supervision;
Asset - able to speak and communicate in Urdu.
