Senior Payroll Administrator

Our client is currently seeking a Senior Payroll Administrator to join our Finance team at our Head Office location in Toronto. The Payroll Administrator will process bi-weekly payroll for all locations across Canada. This position requires providing superior levels of service in regards to payroll accuracy and legislative compliance.

Essential Functions:
• Administer compensation to all employees
• Make necessary changes to the payroll software in terms of adding new hires or deleting terminated employees
• Calculate amounts to be paid or deducted, including hours, vacation and taxable benefits
• Ensure the accurate and efficient accounting of all aspects of payroll
• Provide administrative support to the Human Resources department as needed
• Support the development of the HRIS system
Requirements:
• Post-secondary degree/diploma in Business Administration or Accounting; Payroll designation (either PCP or CPM) is an asset
• 5+ years experience administering payroll for a medium to large sized organization
• Solid experience processing payroll within the retail industry for a multi-provincial company with exposure to US payroll
• Experience with monthly payroll journal entries and reconciliation of various payroll accounts.
• Experience with Ceridian software (HPL) is preferred
• Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Experience with Year-end procedures
• Possess excellent communication skills; ability to communicate in French (oral and/or written) is an asset
• Must be highly organized and deadline oriented with great attention to detail
• Demonstrated professionalism and positive attitude, excellent interpersonal skills
• Have a passion for Aveda products and services
