PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

Participants will be provided with a comprehensive understanding of how LD's and Attention issues are diagnosed, learn how to identify and address the associated emotional issues that become obstacles to learning, and learn new skills to encourage success and cultivate clients esteem and independence as learners.


PROGRAM GOALS

· Provide professionals with a comprehensive understanding of diagnostics.

· Gain knowledge and understanding of the associated emotional issues that can become obstacles to learning.

· Appreciate how people with diagnosed learning disabilities can be successful in both academics and professional environments.

Facilitator Profile:

Bill McLaughlin is a Clinical Psychotherapist and a professionally trained Anthropologist. For fifteen years he has been working with youth and young adults helping them understand their capacity to learn despite a learning disability. Diagnosed with severe Dyslexia and Attention Deficit Disorder. Bill developed his own recipe for success that he used to master academics and graduate with distinction from the University of Toronto. Bill is an inspiring and charismatic speaker who uses levity and wit to promote his approach to learning.
