Position Title: Proposal Development Writer

Position Overview:
As one of the prime professional writers responsible for developing and writing proposal responses, the Proposal Development Writer will work in a challenging team environment with Sales, Marketing and other cross-functional teams. You will participate in proposal strategy and review meetings, source the answers our clients need to satisfy their requirements, develop win themes demonstrating our unique value, and deliver professional proposal documentation. Craftsmanship and creativity are essential.

Responsibilities:
• Develop written proposals (RFP/RFI/unsolicited strategic), serving as the prime bid-writing resource
• Actively participate in all proposal strategy and review meetings
• Write powerful proposal responses that effectively execute and articulate the win strategy
• Research, develop and write standard and custom content
• Write original, compelling sales, marketing, and technical material, such as executive summaries, corporate resumes, and solution detail
• Work closely with cross functional teams to develop client facing material while ensuring accuracy and compliance to legal, technical, and marketing specifications
• Editing and rewriting- able to make substantive revisions to technical text without changing the meaning
• Ensure final draft meets high proposal standards; that proposal content represents what was decided and is ready for signoff
• Develop complex tables, schedules and appendices

Required Knowledge:
• Knowledge and experience with education, government procurement, compliance practices/contract language an asset

Skills and Abilities:
• Proven expert-level project management skills with experience in delivering major documents/publications
• Skilled in developmental, structural and stylistic editing; superior copy editing and proofreading skills, plus a discriminating eye for detail
• Able to adapt easily to changing priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously within compressed timeframes
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills in a virtual and dynamic team environment
• Advanced knowledge and experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Professional Certifications/Designations:
• Degree in Journalism, Communications, English or closely related field

Required Experience:
• Experience developing corporate proposals is highly desirable
