We are a passionate bunch at KineticD and like working with other talented people who care about doing great work. We are looking for an experienced, innovative, and driven PHP Developer to join us in taking this next step.

The ideal candidate has extensive web development and maintenance experience, along with a strong understanding of the relationship between web information architecture and user experience.

You will be available to work mostly offsite on a full-time contract basis for 40 hours a week. You will be responsible for delivering on weekly development tasks, and will play an important role in driving measurable impact on business goals.

During your once-a-week meetings in midtown Toronto (Yonge & Eglinton), you'll meet with the Marketing team to plan the week's tasks, and to ensure that development work follows the requirements of the new website.

• Set up and code a new version of the main website in Wordpress.
• Take ownership of the site and be responsible for maintenance and updates.
• Implement an efficient, seamless process for new landing page creation, web editing, and multivariate split testing.
• Diagnose and repair problems/bugs.
• Report directly to the Marketing Communications Manager for weekly development tasks and quality checking.
• Be available to work full-time on a contract basis of 40 hours a week.

• Three or more years of experience developing web applications with PHP5 and Wordpress.
• BA degree in Computer Science or another related field.
• Two or more years of experience consuming, implementing and integrating with web services (REST, SOAP).
• Experience with one or more MVC frameworks.
• Create and maintain PHP scripts.
• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript (AJAX, JSON, DOM).
• Experience and understanding of cross-browser compatibility issues.
• Experience with Apache and PHP Extensions.

• Solid understanding of UI and optimal web page structure.
• Working knowledge of SEO tactics as they relate to web development.
