Overall Responsibilities: This position is responsible for all aspects of the Buyer/ Planner function. Coordinate, expedite and schedule orders with production and materials to ensure that customer commitments are met.

Specific Responsibilities:

1. Perform and manage the procurement of both direct and indirect material for the support of a manufacturing plan via a MPS/MRP system for the Morgan Canada plant.

2. Procure and/or schedule an inbound supply chain to align with a manufacturing SOP while attaining plant inventory objectives/targets. Adheres to corporate and SOX policies and guidelines in addition to sustaining plant budgets for direct and indirect material.

3. Ensure that purchasing documents (i.e. purchase orders), are processed completely and accurately and submitted on-time to suppliers; responsible for maintaining correct costs and data entry and follows the complete procurement process from P/O submission to P/O receipt.

4. Administers, in conjunction with materials and QA management, internal / external supplier quality accountability via a non-conformance reporting system.

5. Monitor and report on supplier on-time delivery; communicating and working through any issues that could impact the manufacturing process and elevating concerns as necessary.

6. Works closely with corporate Commodity management as well as with a 3rd party logistics carrier. Persistently looks for and communicates opportunities for cost reduction / avoidance.

7. Assists the materials manager in maintaining accurate physical vs. perpetual inventory records, safety stocks, supplier forecasts, etc.

8. Work with Director of Operations to set Production Plans to meet SOP goals.

9. Work with Sales Department to meet specific delivery requirements of customers.

10. Work with Materials Department to keep inventory at desired levels.

11. Schedule orders for production at predetermined production rates.

12. Maintain Customer Supplied Material Receipts.

13. Set start and completion dates for orders.

14. Develop production schedule using SOP numbers with a mix that is achievable by manufacturing.

15. Verify accuracy of new orders and slot them based on chassis due dates.

16. Expedite production orders through the shop to meet customer demands.

17. Report and correct any inventory record inaccuracies and identify causes of shortages and recommend corrective actions.

18. Communicate and confirms purchase orders to vendors.

19. Maintain all purchase order due dates and comments in our database.

20. Maintain published lead times.

21. Perform cycle counts of key components.

Minimum Position Requirements:
• BS/BA degree in business or related field preferred.
• Some travel required
• Understanding of Supply Chain configuration and principles
• Knowledge of MPS/MRP systems. Experience with AS/400 a plus.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, analytical skills.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• 2-3 years scheduling experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Understanding of MRP and how it relates to scheduling
• Ability to react in a fast changing environment
• Computer Proficient to include MS Office and Data 3 system
