Program Manager for an Automotive Company

Summary of Duties

• Manage the technical and commercial aspects of a specific program to ensure that it meets all customer requirements at the best possible cost
• Participate in the quoting and cost estimating process by completing assigned RFQ's
• Participate in the development of the annual business plan by providing cost estimates of business opportunities
• Maintain program open issues lists, timing charts and other items as outlined in company's APQP systems for assigned programs
• Source and manage tooling fabrication with outside sources for assigned programs
• Supply customers with financial information as may be required from time to time to support quotes, cost estimates and ESTA development
• Lead APQP activities as may be necessary to meet the requirements of assigned product introductions and ensure PPAP's are performed in accordance with customer requirements
• Actively participate in continuous improvement activities such as VA/VE analysis
• Interact with part designer as appropriate to ensure manufacturability
• Ensure parts are designed to be manufactured in accordance with Federal and Provincial Laws and that they adhere to Customer (OEM) Environmental Safety Standards
• Perform all job functions in a safe and healthful manner, abiding by all health, safety and environmental rules and regulations, promoting safety in the workplace
• Participate in and support Continuous Improvement initiatives
• Adhere to applicable quality systems and TS16949 standards
• Work within the guidelines of the company's Employee Handbook
• Ensure work area is kept neat and organized
• Maintain work area in accordance with the principles of 5S and operate daily within these standards
• Perform other duties as required


Job Requirements

• Minimum completion of college diploma in Engineering or equivalent experience
• Previous Program Management/APQP experience
• Minimum 3 years experience in the Automotive sector
• Knowledge of customer quoting and commercial procedures
• Proficient with injection moulding and tooling processes
• Proficient with injection moulding and tooling
• Familiarity with basic manufacturing processes involved in automotive trim
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Computer literate in word & spreadsheet programs
• Demonstrated ability to effectively solve problems
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Well-developed organizational and time management skills
