full time Second Level Support Analyst, Retail Systems Service Desk (Toronto)

We are looking for a bilingual customer driven Second Level Support Analyst to provide support on escalations through the frontline team in support of Canadian Tire retail and PartSource stores at a national level. As part of the Retail Systems Service Desk (RSSD) team, you will work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to provide subject matter expertise on Equity and Point of Sale issues in the areas of incident resolution and project coordination.


· Analyze and problem solve complex incidents on application and hardware issues

· Work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders (IT, corporate division, 3rd party vendors, associate stores) to coordinate and resolve issues in a timely manner

· Act as subject matter expert on Retail Systems projects and releases, liaise between the project/release cycle and the service desk

· Provide ongoing knowledge to the frontline analysts through additions to the knowledge base and other methods

· Provide rotational after-hours support coverage

· Keep abreast of changing technologies within Retail Systems

· Participate in team meetings and provide regular status reports to the Team Lead

· Other duties as required


Must Have:

Retail Systems/Technical skills:

· i5 servers or Point of Sale systems and their supported applications

· Equity and PointOne files functionality, menu options and application processes

· iSeries operating system and peripheral devices (printers, RF technology, personal computers, thin clients etc.)

· System Infrastructure Server (SIS) applications and how they relate to Point of Sale

· Point of Sale (POS) hardware architecture and the relationship with the iSeries and SIS

· Point of Sale Windows environment

· MOSAIC (debit/credit) transaction flow


· Bilingual French and English

· Demonstrated customer service orientation and relationship management skills

· Proven organizational and multi-tasking ability

· Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills

· Flexible team player

· Thrives in fast-paced, ever changing work and ambiguous work environment

· Strong understanding of retail in-store processes

· Able and willing to carry a pager on a rotational basis (6pm-1am)
