Business Development Associate (Part-Time)

UK Trade and Investment is looking for someone to provide general support within their Inward Investment team. The investment arm of UK Trade & Investment is the part of British Government responsible for helping overseas companies set up or expand operations in the UK quickly and easily.

Applicants will be expected to:
- Conduct research on Canadian industries,
- Proactively identify and contact new potential investors,
- Arrange and schedule meetings for Investment Officer in respective jurisdictions,
- Prepare meeting briefs
- Provide administrative support and assist with ministerial visits,
- Actively maintain a contacts database and CRM,
- Monitor business trends and developments in Ontario and Manitoba as well as the UK
- Assist and coordinate investor events,
- Ad hoc office administration and other duties in the British Consulate-General Toronto.

The position demands:
- Proven research and administrative skills.
- Good understanding of Canada-UK commercial relations.
- Computer literacy with specific knowledge of Microsoft Office.
- A team player with excellent organisational and interpersonal skills is essential.
- Able to work autonomously with limited supervision.
- Effective communication skills both oral and written
- Work efficiently to meet deadlines and able to deal with competing priorities.

This will be a part time position working 20 hours per week (2.5 days required), with salary of $22,065 plus benefits per annum. Occasional out-of-office hour's work is expected. Please send your CV with covering letter by Friday 10 Aug 2012 by email (in Word format) to Henry Long.
