Our client, a global financial services organization with a rich 50 year history, is currently hiring a Desktop Support Administrator on a full time basis.

The Desktop Support Administrator is an internal customer service and support role responsible for coordinating and providing support for desktop/ laptop, printer, and telecom systems. This role is part of a regional support team; and is primarily focused on supporting employees based in the Toronto, however you will also be required to provide remote support to employees physically located in other office locations.

This position reports to Regional IT Manager and is a key position within the Operations & Support (O&S) group which is responsible for providing infrastructure technical support to business groups.

This position will have interation with internal IT resource groups , the local business as well as external support organizations and vendors

• Deployment and administration of Personal Computers (laptops and desktops) and printing devices.
• Configuration and basic support of Blackberry devices.
• Basic Server administration. Hardware and Server Operating systems.
• Provide day to day technical and user support for personal computers and printers.
• Basic administration of the telephone system (e.g. Move, Add, Changes to telephone extensions)
• Moving of personal computer equipment to facilitate internal office desk moves.
• Provide the necessary local "hands and eyes" support for 2nd and 3rd level technical support teams to aid with project execution and Incidnet Management.
• Backup of local data and tape management.
• Ensures daily, weekly, monthly checks are completed and internal operating procedures are followed.
• Submit Knowledge Base articales and update technical and support documentation.
• Monitor ticketing queues and comply with quality guidelines when managing incidents.

The successful applicant will possess the following requirements:
• At least 3 years providing technical support to end users with computers running Windows XP / Windows 7 .
• Proactive, enthusiastic and ambitious
• Good team worker
• Excellent problem solving skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
